Welcome to another edition of Field Notes from the Family! The 2026 blueberry season is officially underway, and we’re so excited to have everyone back out in the fields.
Our U-Pick is now open, and we’re currently picking one of our favorite early-season varieties—Duke. Duke blueberries are known for their firm texture, mild sweetness, and classic blueberry flavor, making them perfect for fresh snacking, baking, and freezing for later.

Duke
Duke kicks off our blueberry season with beautifully firm, medium-to-large berries and a sweet, mild flavor. It’s an excellent all-purpose blueberry that’s perfect for eating fresh, making jams, baking pies, or freezing to enjoy all year long.
Looking ahead, we’re expecting to begin harvesting Bluecrop next week. Bluecrop is one of Michigan’s most loved varieties, producing large, juicy berries with a rich, balanced sweetness that’s hard to beat. It’s a customer favorite every summer, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
This year’s season started a little later than usual thanks to our cooler spring here in West Michigan, but Mother Nature has certainly been kind to us in another way. With the consistent rainfall we’ve received so far, we’re seeing beautiful berry size and healthy fruit throughout the fields. We’re excited about how this crop is shaping up and look forward to an amazing season ahead.
If you’ve visited us already this year, you may have noticed that our Farm Market has a fresh new layout! We made a few changes to create a better shopping experience, and we’d genuinely love to hear what you think.
