Four Generations and Growing
Blueberries & Beyond
-
Kenneth & Shirley Reenders
Planted his first bushes in 1956
|Ken’s favorite blueberry: Jersey
Kenneth and his wife, Shirley, began their blueberry journey in 1956. At 90 years young, Kenneth still walks the fields, keeping an eye on operations and making sure everything meets the high standards he set years ago. He’s our built-in quality control—and he keeps us in check!
-
Bruce & Karen Reenders
Joined the farm in 1979
|Bruce’s favorite blueberry: Stanley
Bruce started off working in the shops but quickly realized the farm life was more his speed. He loved being outdoors and working with his hands. Though he still loves the outdoors, since then he found a new passion for handling the farm’s payroll, accounting, and all things bookkeeping.
-
Steven & Deborah Reenders
Joined the farm in 1980
|Steven’s favorite blueberry: Liberty
Steven – Kenneth’s youngest son and affectionately known as the “baby” of the third generation – always knew he’d join the family farm. He now oversees day-to-day operations and makes sure everything runs smoothly.
-
Luke & Onalee Reenders
Joined after high school in 2009
|Luke’s favorite blueberry: Duke
|Onalee’s favorite blueberry: Elliott
Luke, Bruce’s son, knew early on that a desk job wasn’t for him. He’s most at home in the fields, doing hands-on work like fertilizing, mowing, and harvesting. His wife, Onalee, is the brains behind the Reenders’ social media. If you’ve ever messaged with us, you were likely chatting with her! They have two children, Keegan and Aria.
Fun Fact: Luke is a 4th-generation firefighter, carrying on the tradition started by his great-grandfather Clarence, passed down through Kenneth, Lawrence, and Bruce.
-
Josh & Maricela Loftis
Joined the farm in 2004
|Josh’s favorite blueberry: Blueray
|Maricela’s favorite blueberry: Elliott
Josh has been working on the farm since he graduated from high school in 2003. His love and passion for farming stemmed from his love of the outdoors and his grandpa (Lawerence). He now takes care of pesticide, fertilizer applications as well as farm/plant health. Maricela has done many different jobs around the farm and truly enjoys driving tractors, along with raising their kids: Evan, Isabella and Kellan.
